Club ‘akau-ta
Humphrey No. 297: ‘A War Club made of a hard kind of wood, somewhat like Mahogany, formed into a Square except at the handle. From the Friendly Isles.’
The club is made of brown wood with a handle that is round in cross-section. Towards the upper end, it increases slightly in size and becomes rhomboid. The club lacks any ornamentation. There is otherwise a small knob at the lower end of the handle. Inken Köhler, Ulrike Rehr, Gundolf Krüger
