Noreena was born in Wiluna and grew up on Lake Violet station.
Her mother, Daisy, had been taken from her family as a child and placed in the Moore River settlement. The film Rabbit-Proof Fence tells Daisy’s story.
Noreena went to school in Meekatharra and afterwards worked at a hostel in Marble Bar before moving to be with her family at Jigalong and eventually Parnngurr, where she now lives.
