Mulyatingki was born at Nyinyiri near the Canning Stock Route and grew up in Karlamilyi. The first time her family saw white people there, they hid in a cave until nightfall.

In 1966 she and her family walked into Balfour Downs station. They were one of the last families to leave the desert.

In 1982 Mulyatingki relocated to Punmu, where she now lives with her sisters, Ngarnjapayi Nancy and May Chapman. Their brother is Bidyadanga artist Jawarta Donald Moko.
