Imagine book
This book was a family favourite and Annie read it with her children many times. It reminds her of the joy of stories and the wonderful world of imagination.
A love of reading
I have always loved reading and I know through my work in education that books, like learning, can open up the world to us. They can take us to new places and enable us to meet people in circumstances very different to our own, giving us new ways of seeing things. Books and education allow us to imagine, to learn and can help us change the world.
Coming together
Improving education outcomes is key to the foundation’s work and we take a collaborative approach. Business, government, philanthropists and educators come together to create a holistic and sustainable program. Each sector brings strengths and new perspectives and that can be a very powerful combination.
Learning to adapt
As the world changes, people need to adapt. There’s a lot of discussion about competencies young people will need but there are four key ones: creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication. If we can help equip students and teachers with these, they will be able to contribute positively and effectively to their communities.
