Australian Labor Party President Carmen Lawrence will be quizzed about factions, the left's leadership record and new recruit Peter Garrett during a National Museum of Australia Talkback Classroom session on Thursday.
In a live interview at Parliament House, three high school students will also question the former West Australian Premier and Education Minister about her opposition to male teaching scholarships.
The nationally-selected panel of Year 12 students is: Anna Hall, Presbyterian Ladies' College, Melbourne; Josh McCann, Casuarina Senior College, Darwin; and Claire Park, Moreton Bay College, Brisbane.

Talkback Classroom, a joint National Museum and Parliamentary Education Office project, gives students access to key politicians and public figures as part of the national civics curriculum.
Talkback Classroom returns to its regular venue at the National Museum of Australia next month. Other guests this year include Governor-General Michael Jeffrey and Senator Natasha Stott Despoja.
Student preparation for this week's interview includes meetings with Dr Lawrence, political science lecturer John Warhurst, journalist Glenn Milne, and young Labor MP Tanya Plibersek.
The Carmen Lawrence interview will be edited and broadcast on ABC Radio National's Life Matters program on Monday, 5 July from 9.15am.
