It seems the world is waking up to the creative power and passion of children. Recently I was introduced to The Ten Project, which involves kids around the age of ten in a process to design improvements for their city. Today I learned of a bigger, global competition aimed at the same age group.
Design for Change is an international project that started in India. It involves children aged 10 to 13 in designing solutions to problems that they see in their world. It’s awe-inspiring… and it’s now in Australia.
You can participate through your school and there are curriculum links (so far for New South Wales and Victoria, but other states are coming soon). Register by 17 September; entries are due by 29 October.
